Phrase a question before spinning

A useful prompt has two clear outcomes. Ask whether to start a ten-minute drawing exercise, choose a game rule, or pick the first of two equally acceptable options. Decide what Yes and No mean before you run the wheel. Changing the question after seeing the answer makes the result less useful as a decision aid.

Spin and read the result

Open the Yes or No Wheel and select Spin the wheel. The browser chooses one of two equally likely outcomes using its cryptographic random-number generator, then the visual wheel rotates to display that selection. The text result is available to copy or download. Input is not submitted to a random-choice server.

Why several identical answers can happen

Independent spins do not alternate on purpose. Four Yes results in a row are possible, just as four heads can occur with a fair coin. For a specified sequence of four Yes outcomes with probability one half each, the probability is 1 in 16. This does not mean the fifth result must be No. A short sequence is not enough to measure fairness reliably.

Agree on the rules for a group

For a classroom or game, decide whether one spin is final or whether you will use a fixed odd number of spins and a majority. Do not keep repeating only the answers somebody dislikes. Announce the rule before the first spin and keep it the same for everyone. For more than two options, the Spinner Wheel can accept a list instead.

Save an outcome when useful

Use Copy output or Download result after a spin. The exported text records the current answer, not a tamper-proof audit trail or a history of all attempts. If your activity needs a log, save each result separately with your own context. Reloading the page does not restore a previous sequence.

Know when a wheel is the wrong choice

Random selection can break a tie between harmless alternatives, but it does not compare evidence or understand consequences. Do not use it to make medical, financial or safety decisions. If the outcomes have meaningfully different risks, list the reasons for each option and seek appropriate advice instead of treating a spin as a recommendation.

Use the animation comfortably

The result text is the important part of the tool; animation is only a visual aid. The wheel respects reduced-motion settings. You can close the separate decorative planet panel and dismiss the bookmark reminder. Those page decorations do not affect the random selection.
