ON-DEVICE PROCESSING
Download Time Calculator
Estimate download time from file size and connection speed. Compare Mbps with MB/s, use decimal or binary file sizes, and save the result locally.
About Download Time Calculator
Estimate the ideal time to transfer a file when you know its size and the connection speed. This calculator uses the values you enter; it does not run an internet speed test or download a file.
How to use it
Enter a size with its unit, such as 1 GB or 100 MiB, in the first field. Enter a positive connection speed such as 100 Mbps or 5 MB/s in the second field, then select Process. For example, 1 GB at 100 Mbps takes 80 seconds under ideal conditions. Copy the result or download it as a text file.
Before you use the result
Mbps means megabits per second; MB/s means megabytes per second. One byte is eight bits, so 100 Mbps equals 12.5 MB/s. KB, MB, GB and TB use powers of 1000; KiB, MiB, GiB and TiB use powers of 1024. The estimate excludes protocol overhead, latency, Wi-Fi congestion and server speed limits, so a real download can take longer.
Frequently asked questions
Can I save my result?
Run the tool, then use its download control. Text results can be saved as a file; image and audio tools show their available export links after generation. A disabled download means a new result is needed.
Are my inputs uploaded?
The tool processes your input in this browser tab. Opening the page downloads the site assets; your tool inputs are not sent to a processing server. Save your result before closing the tab.
How do I start again?
Use Restore example to reset the editable fields, then run the tool again. Changing input invalidates the previous export so that you can generate a fresh result.
